Essential Twitter stats for 2021

Advertisers could reach 436.4 million users on Twitter in October 2021,(a) placing it 15th in our ranking of the world’s most ‘active’ social media platforms.(b)

These latest figures indicate that roughly 5.5% of all the people on Earth use Twitter today.(c)

However, because the company limits use of its platform to people aged 13 and above, Twitter’s ‘eligible’ use rate will likely be higher than these figures suggest.(b)

Twitter is one of the world’s top social platforms, but just how many people use Twitter today?

Meanwhile, the company’s self-service advertising tools indicate that marketers could reach 436.4 million users on Twitter in early October 2021.(a)

However, if we remove the people in this age group who live in China – where Twitter is still blocked – the platform’s eligible adoption rate increases to 8.9%.(c)
